3 Years Later – What Have We Learned?

January 2nd, 2010

When I set my goal at the end of 2006, it was to be able to leave my job at Sam’s Club and be able to sustain my income. I had visions of achieving this in one year, but my own time was limited. I had no concept of how I was going to make that happen and that was the problem.

In 2008, I walked away from a perfectly functional job, making enough to keep most complacent with no clue as to how that income would be sustained in the next 12 months. But I had taken the step that my 2007 Resolution called for…

Looking out my window, I see two large black birds circling in the chilly air, taking advantage of their position above all the clutter to find the food before the other creatures can get it. Watching birds is something that I have had the opportunity to do since my retirement… I get a good feeling knowing that I have the time to go on mental field trips with nature.

Bright Shiny Objects (BSO) are those things that can pull our attention away from the work that we lay out for ourselves unless we have a way to keep us focused. I allow for a certain amount of BSO activity in my day, simply to reward myself for taking the initiative to keep working. The birds outside my window are one such BSO that I give priority, because of the fact that they often fly for the fun of it (I mean, wouldn’t you just circle lazily when the right updrafts are carrying you?).

So in the last 3 years, was it all coasting like the birds on a lazy updraft?

No stinking way!

I struggled. Many of the things I thought I wanted were conflicting with each other. So my wish for freedom meant that I had to confine myself to a lot of hard work. One of my friends helped me to see that while it was a conflict, it was also a reason to work harder. Now that I am not forced to work hard all the time, I have more freedom…

You really need to make a decision in your goal setting.

Is this a goal that I am willing to achieve and do whatever it takes to get there?

Because life will test you… to see if you are serious.

Do you have what it takes? Do you have the Resolve To Succeed?

This year I have resolved to help 100 people become free.

I have 2 different vehicles to help you with that resolution.

I need to know if you have what it takes. If you can prove it to me, I will let you in on the vehicles and provide the support for you. I won’t do it for you.

The best 10 comments will be brought into my inner circle, where you will find out about two programs (one just launched and one is getting ready to go into prelaunch) where you can synergistically create yourself a very nice monthly income. But it will include struggles where you will wonder if you are on the right track, will you have enough money this month to cover the bills AND the monthly investments for the programs, are you really cut out for this type of business?

These questions may not even be in your mind right now, but in two or three months, you may find yourself asking these same questions. The real question you have to answer…

Do you have the Resolve To Succeed?

cancer, welfare, starvation and success…

December 8th, 2009

It’s been a long road for many people.

With the current decline in the economy
and so many people coming online to do
business, it gets more difficult by the day.

I know you’ve been wondering how to succeed.

I know you been looking for a complete set
of instructions.

I know, because I used to be where you are now.

It gets overwhelming and disheartening to say
the least. But, what if you could be led step
by step, be given live guidance each week and
have someone show you the exact steps to take
from beginning… to success?

What could you do with that information?

Well… because of a friend of mine… you no
longer have to pay thousands of dollars for the
best training… take a look and read the story
of a young man that went from terminal cancer,
to homelessness, to welfare and starvation to
creating a 7 figure internet empire.

Take this seriously… this guy has been charging
thousands for his personal students.

Have an amazing day!

PS – This is serious and could quite possibly
be the most enlightening thing you’ve ever seen:

Getting Beaten Down

December 2nd, 2009

My friend knows what getting beaten down feels like.

His mother was sick for the last year, and he has spent much of that time taking care of her, driving her to doctor appointments, surgery and all the while his Internet Marketing Business suffered as he was spending less time with his business while he spent more time with his mother.

This Thanksgiving, my friend had a lot to be thankful for, because his mom was doing much better, the surgery she had recently had was definitely improving her health! But one thing crushed the things he was thankful for…

He had gotten behind in the car payments. Well, one payment behind. But this “buy here, pay here” lot decided that one payment was too much, and about a week before Thanksgiving, they came to his house and drove away with the only family car. And if he was not beaten down enough, the dealer added a $500 repossession fee to the payment that was due, so that he now had to come up with $800 instead of the regular monthly payment!

We get into situations when we think it is over. It just could not get worse, and somehow, we manage to get into worse situations. While some circumstances are out of our control, how we handle them makes a huge difference. We have to find some way to struggle through them in a way that does not ruin our integrity, and helps us win another battle so that we can fight another day.

Don’t give up when things seem too bad. We could very easily throw in the towel and just live in the situation we are in, but that would be like accepting it. Refuse to accept what life has thrown your way as the only choices you have.

Choices are what makes us human… We have the ability to choose to be happy, to choose to take the high road, to choose life over death! Simply giving up is like committing suicide. I was very close to that once in my life. I was unhappy in my job, unhappy in my marriage and it seemed like my every decision was the wrong one. One morning, I found myself mad at the world, and was contemplating ending my life, and in a way that would have harmed way too many people mentally and emotionally. It was the lowest time I ever experienced and one I vowed to never allow myself to go through again!

Since then, I have ended my marriage, ended my dead end job and have found solace in the journey to living a life of freedom. It is not exactly what I pictured when I graduated from high school, but now that I have placed my feet upon the path of a life that I am in complete control over, I feel happier than I have ever felt.

Sometimes, by making changes in our lives, we do hurt others, but we also give them the choice to become more free of the burdens that haunt them. Oppression is self inflicted, because we believe that the conditions are there because of something we did, when in fact, it is something that we must do that can liberate us from it. While this might not be something that someone living in a 3rd World dictatorship could understand, we are often imprisoned by our own beliefs. It is crucial that we change those beliefs to rid ourselves of our own dictators.

In my case, I was the worst dictator in my life, because I believed I was a failure because of bad decisions in my youth. But it took getting beaten down a few times emotionally to see that I was not the failure, my belief system was the failure. It took the love of hundreds of people during the summer of 2008 to show me that I had what it took to blast out of my confort zone (can you believe that we are often comfortable in our misery?) and break out of the job that sucked all of my time and positive energy from my business. When I stepped out on faith on October 31, 2008 and left a career in retail to become self employed full-time, I was scared to death, but had the help of hundreds of people who supported me in my move.

Today, over a year from the event that forever changed my life, I am much more secure in my ability to make things happen. I do not have the sense of chaos in my life. I do not feel like any problem is insurmountable. I just know that I am not supposed to go it alone when trouble strikes.

So I am not going to let my friend go it alone, either.

I put together a Firesale to help him raise the money to get his car back and keep it from getting auctioned off. I am doing multiple webinars to help him raise the money. You can help by telling your friends about this firesale, so that my friend can walk through the doors of the dealership, and hand them the cash and tell them that the next time they walk into his driveway, he is going to have them arrested for trespassing.

Long story short, Sam managed to quit his job and
pursue his passion of helping others live the life of
their dreams.

He now words for himself, and every day truly is

What Are You Truly Thankful For?

May 17th, 2009

When I first started this blog, I thought I knew what resolve was. I had gone through some major hurdles to overcome a hard drive crash, created a sales page from hell for a product that was too late to get to market and has yet to sell the first copy.

I am so grateful for that time in my life!

I went through a very difficult time in 2007 and 2008. Sure, I had some successes during that time, but each time I succeeded at something, it seemed that something else would come up to drag me back to my starting point.

Have you ever had struggles like that?

Yet now when I look back at those times, I can see the growth in my character. Each struggle put a new stitch in my quilt of determination. You see, you do not become successful by merely doing and achieving. Each success must by definition add to your blanket that little patch that will always handle that problem that you overcame to get to that success.

I call that my comfort zone quilt. Each time I leave my comfort zone, I get cold, I learn something else that I can add to my quilt and then I bring my quilt to that new location and get comfortable again! The more you leave your comfort zone, the further you are expanding the reach of your comfort zone quilt!

Thankfulness Is Necessary For Achievement To Mean Anything!

As you make small or large victories in your resolve to succeed, you have to take the time to thank God for your victories. You may have been the one to succeed, but without God, you wouldn’t exist. And each time I went through a very tough time in my life, it was only through my faith in my God that I was able to get through it!

By thanking God for your victories, you are setting the stage for more victories. Why should you continue to win if you are not thankful for winning? It is like the horse who wins the race each time, but instead of getting treated like a winner, it is beaten and undernourished. Eventually that horse will not have the will to win, let alone run the race. Do not defeat yourself by expecting your victories without the humility to accept that you are not the only reason you succeeded. You must accept that you are not alone in this fight.

“Work like it is up to you and pray like it is up to God!”

Have an amazing day!

Micheal
